Contributing to Glossary Converter

Glossary Converter supports UI localisation. Currently, Bulgarian, Chinese, Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish are included. If you want to help by translating to another language, contact glossary@cerebus.de. Look at this page for data and instructions:

Ad-hoc Localisation

You can change UI strings directly in the converter installation, they are stored in txt files (version 6.2 or later required). This may be useful if you want to fix some errors, or prefer a different terminology than the shipped text.

  • Go to the localisation folder of your Glossary Converter, by default
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\SDL OpenExchange\Glossary Converter\Strings
  • Back up the txt file you want to change
  • Make your changes
  • If it is still open, restart the Glossary Converter

If you want to edit a txt file, DO NOT USE Excel. It is complete rubbish at handling line breaks in cells and will mess up the resource file. Libre Office or a text editor are much better suited.
